LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, February 22, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- This month’s cover story in Attorney At Law magazine profiles civil rights attorney Jim DeSimone’s three decades of defending “the little guy.”

“My vision when I first began my career is essentially unchanged, and that is to continue helping those who have been wronged in sexual harassment cases, discrimination cases, excessive force cases and anywhere there is an abuse of power that serves to harm an individual,” DeSimone says in the article, headlined, “The Fight For What’s Right.”

The article highlights DeSimone’s specialties, including police misconduct, employment discrimination and harassment, employment wage and hour class action cases and personal injury.

Twenty-five years ago, DeSimone won a watershed appellate ruling in a case of male-on-male sexual harassment, Mogilefsky v. Superior Court (Silver Pictures). Until Mogilefsky, there was no California precedent that held male-on-male sexual harassment was a violation of the California Fair Employment and Housing Act.

DeSimone was recently honored as the Westside Bar Association’s Trial Attorney of the Year and the California’s legal newspaper the Daily Journal named him a 2017 Top Labor and Employment Lawyer. His case representing the family involved in a body mix-up against the Orange County Coroner’s Office received international media attention this month. The story was not only reported by several regional media outlets such as the Orange County Register, Los Angeles Times, ABC7 and KNBC, but also the Washington Post and Daily Mail.

“We’ve had a great deal of success” in the two years since he opened his solo practice in Marina del Rey, DeSimone told the magazine, “and we’re looking forward to achieving even more in the years to come.”
