Four Farmington middle schools competed against 40 other schools from across Michigan at the Birmingham Covington Middle School Science Olympiad Invitational. Power Middle School placed seventh overall. Warner Middle School student Varun Agrawal placed first in the rocks and minerals category, and Yash Mehta placed second in anatomy. Science Olympiad aims to increase K-12 student and teacher participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) by hosting tournaments and professional development workshops.
